Insurance Leaders Analytics Forum

2019 at McKinsey’s New York Experience Studio

Insurance Leaders Analytics Forum

McKinsey & Company’s Insurance Leaders Analytics Forum is designed for CxOs and senior executives embarking on transformations to scale AI and analytics across their organization. The content will be geared towards business needs and will be delivered through the lens of senior business leaders. We recommend that you attend with a couple of your senior leaders to get the maximum benefit for your organization. This year the event will center around ‘The impact of Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Scaling analytics - how the best break away from the rest’. We’ll facilitate an action-packed day of roundtable discussions, panels, and world-renowned speakers on the impact of AI, the secrets to scaling analytics and how carriers are breaking away by building competitive advantage across the value chain.

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence

AI is moving from the lab to the workplace, with profound implications for business and society. To stay at the forefront of the accelerating artificial-intelligence race requires business executives to make nimble, informed decisions about where and how to employ AI in their business. Professor Ajay Agrawal, an award-winning professor, researcher, and author of the book Prediction Machines: The Simple Economics of Artificial Intelligence will open our event with a keynote on the economics of AI, how it changes the cost of prediction and what it means for your business. We will then be joined by a panel of global experts to discuss the impact of AI on the future of insurance and how to setup a practical and impactful AI program.

Scaling analytics - how the best break away from the rest

What does analytics at scale look like? A handful of the world’s companies have cracked the code on embedding analytics into every layer of their organizations. The time for simple experimentation with analytics is over—and most companies know it. Across industries, we see organizations investing heavily to integrate analytics throughout their entire business in an effort to capture shifting profit pools and create competitive advantage. Based on our McKinsey Analytics survey of 1,000 companies with more than $1 billion in revenue and spanning 13 sectors and 12 geographies, breakaway companies scale analytics by significantly outperforming in nine critical areas across three categories: Aligning on strategy, building the right foundations of data, technologies and people, and conquering the last mile by embedding analytics into decision making and processes. Our event will dive into these critical drivers topics and look into questions such how to obtain strong commitment from all levels of management, building the right foundations and operating like a technology company, and the new role of the Chief Analytics Office. In addition, we take a close look at how leading carriers are building competitive advantage through analytics across distribution, underwriting, claims, and data driven personalization and customer experience.
